Men’s Grooming and Skincare–Makeup for men by Three Custom Color Specialists, first look and thoughts

Men’s grooming, skincare and, well, even what is socially acceptable for men to do with their appearance changes constantly.

I’ve talked about a lot of topics here that I think are pretty normal for guys. Shaving, washing your face, etc., but today well I got a package in the mail that changes all that. Today I got a sample of Three Custom Color Specialists’ makeup for men.

Makeup for men, are you serious?

I’ve been on TV a few times so I’ve been in a makeup chair and that didn’t bother me much. It was for a good reason, you have to look good on TV and such. This is different though, this is stuff is to put on to make yourself look good off camera too.

I have some some eyeliner (flesh coloured, to make your eyes look better), eyebrow gel (tame that bushy look), pressed powder (no shine here!), blush (well you know…), and concealer (to even things out, just like on TV). Have I tried it yet? Not yet. Will I? Yep, sure will.

You can start laughing now.

You might think I’m nuts, believe me my channel mates in Beauty & Style were dying laughing about this today. Especially since I have to learn how to put the stuff on! However, I’m thinking why not try it? Why not see if I can look better and not look like I’m wearing makeup?

Remember, back in 18th century men wore makeup. Remember not long ago, men didn’t colour their hair or get their ears pierced. I’ve had highlights (probably wouldn’t again, they didn’t look too great on me) and I have both my ears pierced.

Times change, style changes, and we do to.

So with some help from the amazing Christina Jones and the magic of Skype video chat, I’m going to learn how to do this. Yes, there will be before and after pictures.

First, I have to visit the drug store and get some makeup brushes, and listen to more laughter. Or maybe she’ll think it’s cute and I’ll get a date. You just never know.
