Manscaping 101 Men\’s Grooming Tips from head to toe for looking and smelling great

Product Review: Barbershop Lounge Travel kit

by Tris Hussey on June 9th, 2008

stimulateYou have to love a men’s hair care line with product names like “get lucky” “3-way” and “sure thing”.  getluckyI’ve been trying the Barbershop Lounge travel set of products for a while now.  My verdict: I like them.

The grooming creme and hair gel, well they work as you’d expect and don’t have an over-powering scent.  I think too many men’s hair products have too strong a scent.  I like subtle.  I think most men do too, at least for hair goop.

surethingThis morning I finally gave the shampoo and conditioner a shot.  Wow.  in-out-hiStimulate is right.  Very minty.  Wakes you up no doubt.  Smells good, it doesn’t linger post-shower, lathers nicely.  The conditioner is even more minty than the shampoo (well it felt like it to me).  They reminded me of some Aveda stuff I’ve used in the past.

Personally I’d go for the Travel kit (psst, great Fathers’s Day gift), small bottles of good stuff to take.  Sure you might not use the shampoo and conditioner (unless the hotel stuff really sucks) but the hair goop is great and works well even if it isn’t your usual style of stuff.

Also, getting a travel size, let’s you try these out without having to commit to getting large amounts.

If you’re a dad in the Boston area, you might, perhaps, like to drop hints that a visit to the Barbershop Lounge for a traditional shave would be something you think would be very cool.
