Product Review: Gillette Hydrating Body Wash—works and is a good option

by Tris Hussey on June 17th, 2008

Recently I reviewed a body wash from Old Spice, and I liked it.  I’ve been using a similar body wash from Gillette as well and comparing the two is pretty interesting.

Both have similar textures (Gillette is purple, Old Spice blue), and do similar things and do it well.

I liked the Hydrating body wash fine, but would I buy it?  No.  But not because it didn’t work, but I just didn’t like it as much as the Old Spice.

I liked the Old Spice scent and lather more, however … that’s me.

I’ve thought a lot about this review, it’s actually why it’s taken me so long to get written.  There isn’t anything wrong with it.  It works fine.  I just like a stronger scent and more lather.

You?  You might like it a lot.

Really I’d try both (if you can get a sample size of both that would rock) and you might decide that I’m nuts.

Frankly, all I want to do in these reviews is to give you my opinion.  Take it or leave it.

So when I say, yeah this rocks, buy it.  You might think it isn’t a half bad idea.

I have been using the Gillette Hydrating Body Wash for about a week and realy like it so far.

I have been using it on my face as well and it seems to really clean my pores. My face skin can run quite oily so I find that impressive.

I do find I have to be pretty careful with my feet, to get them fairly well rinsed before I try to stand (I can only figure the hydrating ingredient leaves them kind of slick).

It seems to rinse off well, sometimes anything claiming to add moisture can feel kind of oily or does not feel like it rinses well.

Living in the dry Utah climate can be pretty hard on my skin. I look forward to using it through the winter, when the furnace really dries me out.
